Octavia Handworth was born Octavia Boas in New York City on Christmas Eve of 1887. She began her acting career on stage on the East Coast. Her first film was The Path Forbidden (1914), but her screen career never really got off the ground. With so many movies being churned out during the infant years of the industry, it was hard for performers to make a name for themselves, and unfortunately Octavia was one of those who was lost in the shuffle. After Footlights (1921), she retired from the film industry and devoted her life to other pursuits. She died on October 3, 1978 in Hemet, California, of natural causes.- Writer
