Jonas Halperin began his career as an Entertainment Industry Publicist at Warner Brothers in 1953 in the Publicity Deptartment working on a number of films including; A Star Is Born (1954), Rebel Without a Cause (1955), East of Eden (1955), and Giant (1956).
He left Warner Brothers in 1956 and formed his own Public Relations firm where he represented future Paramount studio head Robert Evans, Actor Rossano Brazzi, Producer Jerry Wald and Actress Carolyn Jones
In the early 1960s he went to work for Public Relations Powerhouse Rogers and Cowan, there he was publicist to a number of stars including, Shirley MacLaine, Gene Kelly, Stella Stevens, Shelley Berman, Milton Berle, Kirk Douglas and Paul Newman
In the late 1960s he went to work for Alan Jay Lerner at Alan Jay Lerner Productions.
In 1970 He became head of the New York Office of Rogers and Cowan, and in 1977 he became head of corporate communications for Warner Communications (now Time Warner) where he was instrumental in helping launch Atari, MTV, and the worldwide release of _Superman(1978)_
In the 1980s he was involved in the public relations launch of the Yugo Automobile in the United States and in 1986 was head of all public relations for Liberty Weekend (1986) for Producer David L. Wolper.
