- Multi-talented as a sportsman, stage designer, director, writer, actor and photographer. Dean made his stage debut while in his teens. A writer of short stories and TV dramas, he also designed a London production of Ibsen's "Master Builder" and appeared with great success on the New York stage with Orson Welles in "King Lear".
