- Two petty adolescent street urchins Lo and Lung become inseparable sworn brothers who survive the cruelty of the streets. They are separated after Lo gets caught by the law trying to steal food. Years later, Lung grows up to be an enforcer for a gambling syndicate not knowing that it also fronts as a narcotics ring. To contrast Lo is raised in a law enforcement household and is sent out to investigate drug activity in the region. They reunite under a fragile alliance on the opposite sides of the law as their interests spiral into collusion. Things turn deadly after drug boss Ma retaliates by having Lo's stepfather killed and framing Lung for the deed.

His chivalry sparks a rapport and the opportunity to walk Kai-szu home, not once but daily like clockwork come rain or come shine. Impressed, Kai-szu agrees to a first date but not without notice of Man-tso's nosy brother & sister-in-law. Their budding courtship is short-lived after the brothers inadvertently derail their romance and the repelled Kai-szu leaves him due to a misunderstanding. Meanwhile she is diverted by the courtship from a son of a rich family. With his outlook changed, the gutted young Man-tso tries to shake the memory of Kai-szu while moving on with life not knowing that she still loves him. How can the lightning bolt of serendipity strike twice for Man-tso to find his dream girl?

With the help of small a band of patriotic rebels, a beautiful young princess sojourning from a neighboring kingdom and betrothed to the king played by 'Asian Movie Queen' Li Ching employs her charm and finesse to uncover the King's plot and rescue the condemned brother. This Shaw Brothers film delivers palace intrigue and adventure in a grand spectacle tradition of Hong Kong cinema's Golden Age. Also cast are the impressive medieval fortress sets that double for the stone crypts and walls of the notorious Bastille Saint-Antoine.

Chi-Chiang wins a televised jazz drumming contest against his rival and achieves new-found fame but not without further obstacles including his mother's disapproval, his rival's jealously, his rival's vamp girlfriend's advances and a chorus of shady denizens who inhabit the nightclub scene plotting for King Drummer's demise.
- Chinese folklore has it that during ancient times, thousands of crows randomly attacked and killed inhabitants of Feng Village just outside of the Great Wall. Lord Feng gathers town elders to seek a more planned defense after a disastrous attempt by a local band of men to take matters into their own hands to kill the crows. One villager Wang Mao-sheng separates himself from the mob to beg for a famed hermit bird catcher Tung Sheng to address and quell the attacks. Wang and his sister almost lose their lives after Tung's disastrous first confrontation. Meanwhile, hopeful village elders enlist the help of Tung's uncle who advised for a targeted hunt to seek out and kill the head crow. The village celebrates victory after Tung kills the leader of crows however he soon realizes that the death of the figure-head only meant a physical and not spiritual one after Lord Feng's grandson is suddenly bewitched by a mysterious force originating from the evil scourge. By now the remaining flock doubles in magnitude and strength with the imminent fear of more casualties to come. Bent on preserving family honor and completing his quest, Tung must now confront the spiritual challenge and the prospect of physical martyrdom to smash the crows and restore the balance of nature for the village.
- A young tutor, miss Chen, is sent to home school in a dysfunctional household head by a wealthy patriarch. Meanwhile at home, the tutor's own fellow border house mates (a single mother Shen Chiu Meng and her nightclub singer son Chiang Hui) also possess guarded secrets that gradually resurface as Chen unwittingly becomes a catalyst for those in her life as they all converge towards the bridging of deep rooted familial gaps and resolving past estrangements.
