- Tod and Buzz agree to help fulfill a dying jazz singer's last wish to reunite with her old band.
- Tod and Linc, driving through rural Vermont, become lost and have car trouble. They encounter an elderly farmer who helps them. He is widowed with no children and lives with no conveniences such as electricity or telephone. Sadly,his method of making a living and his existence are doomed by the modern world.

She is a local girl who has made it big and has mysteriously come home despite being the star of a current hit on Broadway. Buz quickly falls in love with her and becomes serious. - A girl's death sets off a search for her boyfriend, who must explain that her death was an accident before he's lynched.

The man has found a valuable claim and the owner of the large mining operation resorts to violence to find its location. Buz finds an unlikely ally in the owner's wife.
- Tod and Linc driving through rural Georgia witness the crash of a plane and speak to the dying survivor. A man asks them to go to Savannah and find a woman he met 25 years before and had a child with. He wants a money belt with $38,000 given to the child. Tod and Linc agree to help and find that the search is painful.

- Tod and Linc are in Minneapolis working in Construction on a River Lock Project. Linc becomes "involved" with the sister of their boss. She resents her brother being overprotective and buying off her men friends. Linc tries to help her make it on her own but later finds she has neuroses involving dependency and nymphomania.
- Still in the Los Angeles area with Tod struggling over his computer class at UCLA and Buz enjoying the "sights", a beautiful blond woman enters their lives. She was recently married and almost immediately widowed. The lady will stop at nothing to find the men who killed her husband-despite being blind.

They barely settle in on their new jobs at the Squaw Valley Ski Lodge when the dead body of a female skier is found out on the slopes. The perpetrator, a mentally defective guest at the lodge, goes undetected and may seek another victim.

- Tod and Linc driving to Cape Coral, Florida run out of gas. Linc goes for help and is "aided" by two men who involve him in a stick-up and shooting. Despite being part of a statewide manhunt, Linc offers first aid to one of the men who has been shot. The two men (and Linc) then continue on to their original destination - a wedding!
- Job seeks justice in his hometown after 5 years in a Texas prison. David Job and his gang take over the scrub town, putting its kingpins and collaborators on kangaroo trial for railroading Job out, and into prison. Passersby Buz & Tod get rounded up too, with Tod assigned to act as the defense mouthpiece. As Job and local Goliath Harcourt Jr. contend over maid Marion Ross, brother Doodle Job must choose sides.

Linc, playing detective, finds out the man's other two children are the cause.

- Tod, still alone, is in Texas working as a tour guide at the Houston Zoo. He rescues a dazed young woman from the bear "pit". Later she explains to Tod that she made a spectacle of herself in order to find someone to help her. She suspects her penniless stepfather has attempted to kill her wealthy mother-and will try again.
- Tod and Linc are in Poland Spring, Maine working at a children's Summer Camp. Linc acts as protector for one of the Camp counselors, an older lady, who has become frightened by the threat of her escaped mental patient husband. Tod, meanwhile, has his hands full warding off the advances of a teenage attendee at the Camp.
- Tod and Linc are in Mount Snow,Vermont employed at the Snow Lake Lodge Motel. An attractive "escapee" of the Buffalo, NY Chapter of "The League For Physical Revelation" is of interest to both Tod and Linc. Chosen by her group to promote physical fitness worldwide,she actually is more concerned about her love life.
