- During a near death experience, Benny has a vision of Grace, who recently died in the hospital he is being treated in, and follows her lead to a string of mysterious deaths. Johnathan plays chicken to save him from a similar demise.
- A botanist experimenting with plant communication is murdered - his extensive estate left to those same plants. The local paranormal club helps Benny and Jonathan investigate murder.
- Dr. Jonathan MacKensie, professor of anthropology at Georgetown Institute of Science & Technology is 'persuaded' to take over the directorship of Dr. Moorhouse's newly established Paranormal Research Unit to investigate unexplainable phenomena, starting with reports of poltergeist activity in a little town in northern California. Once in Fartham, his reluctant investigation leads him to a dark cemetery and a fateful meeting with Edgar ('Call Me Benny, Edgar's Just For the Press') Benedek, who is also prowling around the tombstones on the scent of the same story. Although the flamboyant, self-aggrandizing author (and infamous tabloid reporter) immediately grates on Jonathan's nerves, he recognizes that Benny is considerably more experienced in the investigation of paranormal phenomena than he is (or ever wishes to be) and a partnership is born. The inhabitants of Briarwood Road feared their neighbor, Robert Pence, a professional occultist who claimed to derive his dark powers from his infamous ancestor Angelica Pence, a Salem witch. When Pence died in a mysterious fire, the neighbors stayed behind locked doors and drawn curtains while Pence's young son, Billy, futilely begged for their aid. Now those same neighbors are being plagued by mysterious and threatening phenomena, as though Pence were reaching out from beyond the grave to exact his revenge. Before long, Jonathan and Benny are on the trail of what's really behind the seemingly paranormal attacks, but not before their own lives are threatened by the same circumstances that took Pence's life.
- Looking into a 40 year old UFO sighting, Benny and Jonathan encounter a town with tight lips and an elderly woman with a weighty secret.
- Sent to search for werewolves, Benny and Jonathan uncover a tragedy and find something that piques the professor's interest - but might get them devoured by a very perceptive wolf pack.
- When a politician comes to Benny and Jonathan for help, citing a weird pact she made in grad school, they must face down a wizard for the soul of her son.
- When a dead man fights his way out of a grave at midnight, Benny suspects a zombie plot, and goes deep undercover - six feet deep. Jonathan desperately tracks Benny's last movements.
- Seeking the shambling shape lurking about a newly opened galleria might cause Benny and Jonathan to uncover a much older taint on past inhabitants.
- When Benny and Jonathan investigate a recently fire-gutted residential hotel, Jonathan is possessed by the various residents who died in the fire, providing clues to the cause of the blaze.
