- Ohara must help his friend Diane, who's involved with the Yakuza. Their leader Kazu, who's in love with her, wants to let her off the hook, but his jealous yuppie son Kenji has other plans. Also, Ohara griefs over his late family.
- Los Angeles police detective Lt. Ohara, a contemplative but shrewd officer, watches as his colleagues bring in a man charged with a robbery-murder spree that included a cop killing. Going through witness statements, Ohara realizes that the wrong man was arrested and that the real killer is someone who very closely resembles him - but is left-handed while the suspect is right-handed. Ohara unloads his gun and secretly passes it to the suspect, who takes Ohara "hostage" and escapes. Ohara then stashes the suspect in his home and reports back to headquarters. The killer had an accomplice, so Ohara joins the investigation. When he finds about the killer's car, Ohara lifts an identical vehicle from police impound and has his new friend drive it around until they are spotted, then quickly hides it while the cops hunt for an identical vehicle.
- A model leads Ohara and Shaver into a murder case that causes Ohara to have touching memories of his late daughter.
- Ohara and Shaver go under cover at a health club to find who is stealing from watches and jewelry from rich clients and selling them in Paris. Ohara poses as a rich client at the club and Shaver is a gym instructor. They find the thieves and capture them with Shaver jumping from a bridge on to a speed bot to catch the crooks.
- Ohara and the police got two gangs to make peace. But when the former leader of one of the gangs, who was in prison, returns and was hoping to reclaim his crown. And when he hears of what happened, he takes a gun and shoots one of his gang's members. And it's touchy for Jesse, because he was once a member of the gang and he and the leader have history which Jesse tries to avoid.
- Ohara and the others are protecting a witness who is suppose to testify against a criminal whom they've been trying to nail for years. But the man finds out where he is and kills him but a girl sees him. Ohara promises to protect her. He brings her to somewhere where he thinks she'll be safe but the man finds her. Ohara thinks there's a leak but has no time to find it. So he tries to protect as best he can.
- A group of thieves break into a families home to rob them. One of the thieves rapes the 16 year old daughter. Ohara and Shaver try to track down the gang. They find a phone answering service representative is tipping the thieves.
- Ohara captures a criminal. When it's learned he committed a crime in Japan, a Japanese cop named Toshi arrives to bring him to Japan to face trial. When they meet him; he is so full of hot air. When they are at the airport and about to leave, someone knocks him out and frees the criminal. He then reveals he's not the super cop he claims to be. He decides to stay and help recover the man cause he feels humiliated. Ohara tries to help come to terms with what happened.
- Will is the son of a wealthy, prominent politician. He uses his father's speedboat to smuggle machine guns into the harbor. The deal goes bad, shots are fired, one man is dead. Ohara and Cricket intervene; Will is arrested and taken to jail. Since Will knows where the next shipment of automatic weapons will be picked up, he is a threat to the gun runner. Ohara wants to keep Will in jail for his own safety. But Will's overbearing father demands that his son be released on bail; he will bring political pressure upon Ohara to make that happen. Ohara must protect Will, and get the location of the next gun shipment, all while contending with the tyrannical father.
- Ohara gets a new partner. Shaver is not liked by the whole police department. Ohara moves to a task force and needs a partner so he chooses Shaver to save him from being released from the Police department. The Captain warns Ohara about his new hothead partner.
