- The pensioner Jonas Wultz is struck by lightning early in the morning. However, the weather was not bad enough for a natural lightning strike, so it stands to reason that it is an artificially induced lightning strike.

- A skeleton is found in the basement at the Jaray's residence. Ferdinand Jaray suffers from dementia but confesses that he is the killer. Stefan exam establishes that the remains correspond to a man in his twenties or thirties and that death occurred between 30 and 60 years ago. During the Nazi occupation, Ferdinand was interned in a concentration camp. Angelika becomes worried about Jan's sudden attraction for firearms.
- Angelika and Franitschek try to solve the murder of Simon Gehbauer, a young man found shot in the forest of Lainzer Park. Meanwhile, suspicions continue about the involvement of Angelika's son in the death of Nico Schnabel.
- Angelika and Franitschek investigate the murder of Gudrun Schatzinger, an elderly woman, who was killed after a ceiling lamp tragically fell on her while she was playing cards with three friends. Meanwhile, Maja feels betrayed by Angelika's delaying tactics in the Nico Schnabel murder case.
- A confused girl with amnesia, a knife and a jacket covered in blood, arrives at Angelika and Franitschek's office for help. She might be involved in a stabbing at Nordbahnhof that Maja and Zlatk are investigating, as she can be seen in the surveillance videos. Angelika is convinced of the girl's innocence, but lies to the police about the bag full of money she was carrying when they first met. The investigations lead them to the train station where stray kids live under a social worker's rules.

- Sabine Strobl, a friend of Stefan's, turns to Angelika because she doesn't believe her daughter Sophie committed suicide and Stefan's pathology report supports this assumption. Jakob Fellinger, the victim's fiancé, is the prime suspect. During the investigation, Angelika and Franitschek find that the Fellingers, and influential family, have some secrets.
- Franitschek deals with the pain of the death of his childhood friend and dentist Viktor Urbach, that seems to be related with witchcraft but is determined to find the real killer and the main suspect is Viktor's wife. Meanwhile, Angelika and Maja join forces to investigate the murder cases of Nico Schnabel and Dennis Maida when they find some evidences that relates them.
- Therese Hasenauer-Kralik visits Frasch headquarters because the notary has prevented access to a flat she owns until an heir of her last tenant, Mr. Huber, 85, who died two months ago, is found and takes care of his belongings. Mr. Huber was a widower, whose only son died in an accident in 1993. In the flat, they find a hidden letter written in Hindi and Indian-style fabrics from the Austrian brand Kurmatex.
- At the station, videos from Lena Brennersdorfer, a digital artist, warn the police that the alleged suicide of artist Gustav Brennersdorfer was not sufficiently investigated. When Wolf, another member of the surprising and peculiar family, apparently commits suicide, Angelika and Fanitschek must investigate them all. Meanwhile, Jan remains in prison and Angelika suspects of prosecutor Christian Stanic when Maja and her discover that Stanic knew Anna Moser when her name was Melanie Gruber.
- While Felix Preisinger, hanging by a harness, is cleaning a graffiti in the facade of an apartment building, he gets killed when one of the advertising letters on the rooftop falls on him. Maja continues investigatIng the Schnabel case.
- A woman is found dead in the Danube with a blow in the head and a garden glove underneath. Stefan is reluctant to talk to Angelika, after the row they had about Jan. Christian Stanic, the prosecutor, informs Angelika that the case against Jan will be reopened. Eberhard Bina reports the murder of Christine Zeitlberger and provides a gardening glove as evidence.

- David Brugger is missing for three months and his wife Nadja hires Angelika and Franitschek to find him, because she fears that David was involved with the mafia and was murdered. Maja was in charge but the police closed the case for the man was a womanizer and presumably left the country. The investigation leads to a secret lover and a singles club.
- Knut Holm is under the rain during a stormy night on a hill, while another man threatens him with a gun and shoots him to death, before stabbing him in the chest with a knife and finally putting him in a grave. He was the director of the archaeological excavation of a legendary Celtic burial which was in conflict with the building project of a brothel of a local entrepreneur.
- Heidi Hofreiter is concerned about large-scale wage fraud in the company she works for. Angelika and Franitschek find payroll inconsistencies, ghost employees and a mysterious accident. When the main suspect is found dead, investigators find themselves in the middle of a web of cyber and economic crimes.

- After Jan's trial, Stefan is still angry with Angelika. While Franitschek gets retired, Angelika is fired from the police. Without money and no place to live, she is forced to take a job as a security guard at a shopping center before the first unemployment payment arrives. By chance, she meets Eberhard Bina, a person of interest in Christine Zeitlberger's case, who hires them because his girlfriend, Sandra Maringer, a men's fashion advisor, is being threatened.
- The murder of Carlo Michalek, Maths and Gymnastics teacher, with no family, shot and with a "guilty" note stuck on his forehead with a compass, leads Angelika and Franitschek to discover that the victim had been accused of rape. They hope to find information from Heribert Keinz, a retired military man, whose drone may have registered images of the crime.

- Angelika and Franitschek investigate the brutal run-over of Alan Richter in Transdanubia, which leads them to illegal car racing, since Richter had served sentence for running over a young woman during an illegal race which left her paralyzed. Meanwhile, Jan accuses Anna of the murder of Nico Schnabel and Dennis Maida and is released from prison.
- Sissi König, owner of the company König carriages, is murdered at dawn and thrown into the trash in a backyard. She and her son Leo argued at the company's anniversary party because of her ex-husband. Schnabel continues searching for incriminating evidence against Jan in the company of Inspector Horvath.

- Hairdresser Astrid Mauro is about to have a coffee in her garden when she finds a map in the hedges and a man dressed as a cosmonaut who has produced a big hole in the grass. Franitschek phones Home Office, which sends secret agents who inform Angelika and Franitschek that Mauro had recently renovated his garden with a landscaper.
- Niklas Neumann, 24, a young millionaire, contacts Angelika because Yasmin has been kidnapped. The trouble is that Yasmin is a made to measure doll the size of a woman. Niklas is an orphan who lives in solitude.
