- On May 7, 2001, nine-year-old Peggy Knobloch disappears. A Germany-wide and international search for the child begins. But the police can't find any trace of Peggy. Her body was found on July 2, 2016. Peggy Knobloch's disappearance remains a mystery and is one of the most famous criminal cases in Germany. The case is reconstructed in detail in this documentary series.
- Lawyer Michael Euler and Gudrun Rödel - legal in charge of Ulvi Kulac - examine the case meticulously and come to the conclusion that Kulac is innocent and could not have killed Peggy. They gather new knowledge and achieve their goal: there is a retrial.
- After Ulvi Kulac's acquittal in the retrial, the case is open again. The investigators and some journalists are following up on leads that point to new suspects. In 2016 something happened that no one really expected: a mushroom picker found Peggy's body in a wooded area near Lichtenberg.
- After Peggy's body were discovered in a forest, the investigators meticulously evaluate the traces of the site for almost two years. Finally, the Bayreuth public prosecutor announced that they had a new suspect in focus. His partial confession pulls a man back into the case who was actually considered exonerated: Ulvi Kulac.
