- The young, talented and idiosyncratic concert pianist Lotta Basalle is about to make a big comeback: the celebrated musician withdrew from the public for three years after almost dying in a serious car accident. Music fans and critics are now all the more excited about their first concert. But despite constant rehearsals under the conductor - her partner - Björn Larsson, Lotta feels that the magic that used to rouse people to storms of enthusiasm simply no longer applies to her piano playing - where the music used to seem to flow from her fingers , since the accident her playing seems strained and cramped. In order to finally find her way back to her old spirit and playful inspiration, Lotta decides to retire to a small, intimate luxury hotel in the idyllic Rheingau for the days before the concert. Her domineering mother is anything but enthusiastic about this idea, since it is exactly the place where Lotta had the accident three years ago after the painful separation from her boyfriend at the time. As soon as she arrived at the Hotel Rheinblick, Lotta asked for absolute silence for the duration of her stay - her only attention is on the concert grand piano in her suite, which she only leaves to go jogging in the morning. Even the thought of relaxation and sensual pleasure seems a useless distraction in Lotta's eyes. Sebastian Brandt, the hotel's charmingly stubborn chef de cuisine, sees things very differently: For him, inspiration and artistic power come from a conscious devotion to good wine and excellent food. And no matter how harshly Lotta initially rejects his delicious creations, Sebastian is undeterred and serves her a lovingly prepared menu every day. And in fact he gradually succeeds in breaking through the rough shell of the dogged artist. Lotta begins to recognize a kindred spirit as an artist in Sebastian, who is also struggling with a broken heart. A tender love develops between the two. But then Lotta's strict mother and a little later worried Björn show up at the hotel.
