- Dani is determined to attend the renowned Gastein Ski Academy because she is passionate about skiing and wants to escape a future on her parents' farm. She even tricks her sister, who is actually the better skier, into taking her place.
- The admission race shows where the strengths and weaknesses of the young ski talents lie: Bavarian Georg is an outstanding athlete, but his family is not there for him. That stresses him out. The talented Swiss Nawal, on the other hand, doesn't leave her worried mother Sarah's side, which Nawal doesn't like. During the recording race, Nawal falls badly and injures himself. How does she convince her mother to let her stay at the academy? The local Dani can only make up for her lower talent through double effort. The cheeky Nikki Auer embarrasses his father, headmaster Mark, in front of local celebrities. Does Nikki have a future at school? Head coach Franziska, Mark and Chairman Schiesstl ask themselves: Who is the new year?
- Nikki is a promising ski talent, but what he lacks is the discipline to get to the top. He got into the academy easily, and not just because his father is the principal. Skiing is in Nikki's blood, but what he is really looking for is his place in life. He wants to rebel against his father, but also wants to reconcile with him after moving to Switzerland with his mother following his parents' divorce. At school, he learns about the deceased pupil Paul, a boy who Nikki's father allegedly drove to suicide. Between the first attempts to get closer to Nawal and Dani, Nikki has to avoid the hostility in the village and get to the bottom of it.
- Luca has spent his entire life in the mountains of South Tyrol and grew up with his mother, who struggles to survive financially as a ski hut tenant. With his idiosyncratic skiing style, he conquers every slope and every mountain at record speed. As an absolutely exceptional talent, he makes it to school, although he obviously has social deficits. He wants to ski professionally in order to provide a secure existence for his mother and himself, but as his social obligations increase, he becomes a ticking time bomb. In an attempt to market the new pupils, Luca and Dani are sent on a promotional tour with heli-skiing. Luca once again goes his own way and puts his life in danger in the process.
