- It's an action packed movie
- In the Himalayan High Plateaus, far from any human life, we will accompany Tsering, a shepherdess, throughout one year, thanks to her brother's knowing camera. We will discover the moving and exceptional picture of a woman who has devoted her life to her cattle. In the Far Northern Mountains of India, in Ladakh, Tsering leads her flock of 300 sheep and Pashmina goats to graze on the 5500 m high Himalayan Plateaus. Surrounded by this dry and desolate landscape, she lives with her cattle under the continuous threat of wolves and snow leopards. Her brother followed her during one year and filmed her exhausting work: both exceptional and moving pictures in which we discover the maternal tie between her and her sheep. A life diametrically opposed to the Western luxury industry which will use the Kashmir wool she produces.
- Beyond the mountains of the Western Himalaya, Sonam, an old nomad man, lives with his tribe in one of the most adverse and isolated regions of the planet, but a sudden change in the climate is drying most of the rivers and transforming several valleys in deserts, threatening his people's survival.
- To chase her dream of going to school in her remote Himalayan village, a feisty paraplegic girl locks horns with her tradition-bound grandfather.
- This may be the last migration for Tundup, the end of his nomadic life on the Himalayan highlands. When the merchants arrive, Tundup and his people will have to choose: sell their herd, abandon their lands and go to town like so many before them, or stay in Karnak. Where will they be happiest? At 4,500 meters above sea level, in a lunar setting where the sky blends with the vastness of minerals, director Marianne Chaud filmed the movements of these last nomads. Immersed in their community for many months, speaking their language, she placed her camera as close as possible to their voices and gestures, offering viewers encounters of rare intimacy. As much as the splendor of the landscapes, the extreme harshness of the living conditions or the emotion shared with these nomads, it is this proximity that creates the magic of the film.

When the next year's tournament is approaching the girls make a new attempt to enter. They have to solve problem by problem: Thin Ice, bad equipment, no coaching. Finally when they find the American coach Deb, they travel over the mountain to the Muslim village Kargil and create a joint team. Side by side the Buddhist and Muslim girls challenge the men in charge. When they finally are allowed to take part in the competition, they still have to fight for their rights both on the ice and beside the rink. The men don't like Dolkar and her team, so they change the rules and push the girls around. Due to the injustices there is chaos with boycott and new wild protests. Dolkar is risking her education and reputation by leading the protests. But then she also becomes the important bridge between the Buddhist and the Muslim society in Ladakh.
