Cecil B. DeMille and the Play
Single-Black-Male17 November 2003
The 34 year old Cecil B. DeMille enlisted the services of Edgar Selwyn to adapt his play for the screen. DeMille (wearing his producers hat) had an eye for popular culture and understood what would sell and what audiences were looking for. Not a good film in my opinion, but nevertheless, it provided DeMille with commercial value.
