Hushed Hour was filmed at Fine Arts studio in Hollywood in 1918 and released on a state's rights basis with it's first public showing in Detroit on May 18, 1919. The film was not reviewed in trade papers until 1920.

The original story was published in The Red Book Magazine in June 1917 which one of over 100 short stories that were written by Gertrude Brooke Hamilton.
