- The Clown causes trouble for the Cartoonist, and a sculptor using the studio, when he escapes from his backdrop and hides in the wet clay of a bust.
- A man with a huge hooked nose enters the Fleischer studios to have his bust sculpted. Meanwhile, across the studio, Max is animating Koko. When he's called over to consult on the too-accurate bust, Koko gets mischievous and creates his own drawings. He then escapes and crawls inside the clay bust, eventually wriggling off like an inchworm. He gets into a fight with the man being modeled, both of them flinging wads of clay.—Jon Reeves <jreeves@imdb.com>
- The Clown comes to torpid life in his latest "Out of the Inkwell" misadventure. He blames the Cartoonist for not using fresh ink. As the Cartoonist tries to put some energy into his creation, a sculptor in the same studio is making a bust of an ugly man with a ridiculous hook nose. The man dislikes the bust the moment he sees it: it looks too much like him. Meanwhile, the Clown finds energy in mockery. The Cartoonist gave him a wintry backdrop to play in, and so the Clown uses his skills as a figure skater to create a caricature of the ugly man in the ice. Then he makes a giant snow sculpture of the man. The Clown eventually escapes the backdrop and winds up in the wet clay of the bust.—J. Spurlin
