Willy Worst (Stan Laurel) is turning a local post office upside down and stirs up ill-feelings when trying to send a letter in POSTAGE DUE, a short produced by Hal Roach and directed by a former Keystone Kop.
Stan does his best to recover a post-card, which he has forgotten to stamp. He attempts the recovery after hearing a remark by a postal inspector that the absence of the stamp makes the card a criminal offense for the sender. In the course of his struggles he swims through "oceans" of mail, rides up and down chutes, gets tied up in a mail bag and finally finds himself locked in a delivery truck with two thieves.—Moving Picture World, February 16, 1924
