Love in a Hot Climate
richardchatten18 May 2019
Supposedly set somewhere in the Far East - although no one seems dressed for that climate - Variety's reviewer and Mordaunt Hall of 'The New York Times' both gave short shrift to the 65 minute version of the film that lasted over two hours in the version I just saw on London's South Bank; which seems to have been the British release version.

It was a mark of the cosmopolitanism of late silent cinema that Anna May Wong could be paired with a relatively young and dashing Heinrich George (billed as 'Henry George'), with Hans Adalbert von Schlettow playing the same smarmy Other Man with plenty of money to wave around a he had in Anthony Asquith's 'Cottage on Dartmoor'.
