On July 7, 1934, The National Legion of Decency condemned the film as "immoral and indecent." Subsequently, the film was boycotted by the Catholic Church list and banned in Chicago.
The airplane Ranny flies into the airport is a 1930 Waco model INF, registration NC619Y. The cost of the plane at the time was $4,365 ($62,700 in 2017). This particular aircraft, as of 2017, is still in flying condition and is part of the collection of the North Cascades Vintage Aircraft Museum in Concrete, Washington.
