While there are certain limits to which No Direction Home: Bob Dylan is “a Martin Scorsese film,” given the lack of input he had with creating of the material presented onscreen, his role in editing said material is not only massive as an undertaking: it’s also astonishing as a result, to the extent that No Direction Home is one of Scorsese’s greatest works in any form.
Its relegation to DVD and nothing else will come to an end when the film is released on Blu-ray this fall. Usher is releasing his brand new album, Hard II Love, this Friday, but if you’re a Tidal subscriber, you’ve got the opportunity to stream it on the service right now. Hard II Love is the R&B crooner’s eighth overall record, and fans haven’t gotten an album from him in over four years since he came out with Looking 4 Myself in 2012.
Though it’s been a long time coming, all is forgiven if Hard II Love turns out to be a great album, so was it worth the four year wait? So far, it’s shaping up to be worth it, as over the past few months we’ve got the chance to hear album tracks such as the beat-driven “Rivals,” the groovy club-bumper “No Limit,” and the R&B throwback, “Missin U.” Additionally, the Latin-influenced “Champions” and the Future-assisted “Rivals” show that no one track is the same,...

Usher is going all out when it comes to promoting his upcoming album, Hard II Love, as the singer has revealed numerous songs and videos to hype the public up. His latest hype attempt, the music video for the new track, “Rivals,” is premiering exclusively on Tidal.
“Rivals” sports a guest spot from rapper Future, which means that it’s going to be an essential club jam from the start. The video clip shows the duo partying it up together, while the song is slow, sensual, and probably has the coolest verse from Future that we’ve heard in a good while. Considered amongst the very greatest documentaries ever made and selected by the Library of Congress as being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant,” D.A. Pennebaker‘s veritable direct cinema portrait of Bob Dylan on his 1965 tour of England is an undisputed masterpiece. Yet, after Pennebaker completed the film, he almost gave up hope of finding a distributor. In the end, the film opened at the Presidio Theater in San Francisco, then known mostly for showing porn, to rave reviews and flocks of crowds hungry to meet Bob Dylan, or a version of Dylan, riding a wave of creative energy so quick that he’s bored and already reaching for the next thing. Its no wonder why Pennebaker named the film Dont Look Back, after a quote by Satchel Paige – “Don’t look back. Something might be gaining on you.”

WWE has never been afraid to tell us about their departed rival, but their version of WCW history is skewed to say the least. Outkast might not be the only hip-hop reunion this weekend at Coachella ... because Romeo says the No Limit boys are going to be there too.Our photog nonchalantly asked Romeo if he was headed to the festival ... when he dropped the bombshell about a "surprise No Limit performance." He described it as a "90s surprise" but wouldn't elaborate any further. There's really only one thing to say when we hear news this awesome ... Read more...

A theme can be a wrestler or show’s very identity. It is the very first impression made on fans in most cases and the right theme can create a frenzy thousands strong with a single note or sound effect. WWE in-house musician Jim Johnston has done a beyond admirable job of writing, composing and recording themes for a vast majority of superstars over the years, but sometimes wrestling reaches out to mainstream musicians to make a theme song for a wrestler.
When that happens the result is something that makes both wrestling fans and fans of the band making the theme pay attention as the song is wildly popular. There are also cases where wrestlers will take an already popular song and make it their own, sometimes even breathing new life and popularity into the song and introducing the recording artist to a new audience. Other times, the...

When the stars of the squared circle try their hand at cinema, the results can be mixed
They may have made their names by dressing up in spandex and pretending to hit other men, but professional wrestlers are some of the most engaging performers in the entertainment world.
Some of the industry's biggest stars have made the transition from the squared-circle to the silver screen, with varying degrees of success – and quality.
Here are five of the most memorable films starring professional wrestlers – can you think of any others? Let us know in the thread below.
1. Mr Nanny
It's odd to think that a man who looked constantly sunburnt and sported a bleached Fu Manchu moustache could be such a hit with the kids, but Hulk Hogan was a huge star in the 80s and 90s, when Hulkmania ran wild across the globe.
Hogan's film credits read like an essay in naffness: Suburban Commando,...

A resurgence in the popularity of the ukulele could rekindle our bizarre affection for the oddball singer-comedian
Britain has apparently gone mad for ukuleles. An extraordinary resurgence in the popularity of the instrument must surely revive memories of that extraordinary figure in British pop history, George Formby. (To be exact, Formby played the banjo-ukulele.) It's easy to assume that Formby was a marginal comedy figure comparable to, say, Peter Glaze on the BBC children's TV show Crackerjack. Actually, Formby was massive, the highest-earning comedian in British cinema from the mid-30s to the mid-40s, and just before the war, the biggest British star in any genre. How did he do it?
He just looked so weird. Something in the posture required to play the ukulele – shoulders hunched, elbows akimbo – probably encouraged a perky grinning manner: it's probably impossible to play the ukukele in any other way. Maybe if Jimi Hendrix had played the ukulele,...

Virtually all the movies currently made under the tax benefits provided by the Isle of Man are set elsewhere in Britain or as far away as Washington DC, so it's good to see one actually set there. This lively 3D documentary celebrates, as did the 1936 George Formby comedy No Limit, the annual Tourist Trophy motorcycle races that have been run there since 1907, resulting in 231 deaths and untold injuries.
The speeds on such narrow, winding public roads are hair-raising and superbly photographed, the crashes spectacular and the riders far more likable than anyone involved in Formula One. Particularly engaging is the zanily amusing, leathered lunatic Guy Martin, a Lincolnshire lorry repair mechanic by day.
