The Story of Louis Pasteur (1936) Poster

Raymond Brown: Dr. Radisse

Quotes

  • Dr. Louis Pasteur : Will you try and explain to Dr. Radisse what we are doing?

    [sarcastically]

Dr. Louis Pasteur : He's a member of the Academy of Medicine, so you'll have to use very simple language.

Dr. Emile Roux : We're convinced, Doctor - after eight years of experimenting - that this vaccine, when injected into the animal, will set up an immunity.

Dr. Radisse : Ridiculous! It would take eighty years to convince me.

Dr. Louis Pasteur : Eighty? Aren't you a little optimistic?

  • Dr. Radisse : So, you are now the saviour of the sheep, monsieur? Very interesting. He's the man who was responsible for the death of Dr. Francois, remember? He was run out of Paris.

Dr. Louis Pasteur : Not quite, doctor.

Dr. Radisse : Don't deny it! You were, and you were warned not to practice. Positively forbidden!

    [sheep bleating]

Dr. Radisse : A prophet is never without followers, it seems.

Dr. Louis Pasteur : But rarely such intelligent ones. These animals know what's good for them.

Dr. Radisse : Perhaps you'll tell me what's good for them. I'd like to know, too.

    [sheep bleating]

Dr. Louis Pasteur : I'm afraid it's hopeless, but I'll try.
