This is one of a handful of cartoons played constantly on a special television channel at Walt Disney World resorts.
Re-released in cinemas with Fun and Fancy Free (1947) as a "package feature," 9 years after its original release.
The title and plot are based on "The Valiant Little Tailor" or "The Brave Little Tailor", a German fairy tale collected by the Brothers Grimm (Jacob Grimm and Wilhelm Grimm).
Contains the expression "Jiminy Cricket!", a polite euphemism for "Jesus Christ!" which was popular at the time, and would become the name of the legendary Walt Disney spokes-character who first appeared in Pinocchio (1940).
In 1994 was chosen the 26th Greatest Cartoon of All Time by a panel of professional animators, in the book "50 Greatest Cartoons: As Selected by 1,000 Animation Professionals" by Jerry Beck.
