Quotes

  • Lily Belle : Hey you! Give me those pants. And from now now on, leave my husband alone.

Frenchy : I don't want your husband, Mrs. Callahan - all I want is his money... and his pants.

Lily Belle : And how'd you get 'em? By making eyes at him while you cheated, you gilded lily!

Frenchy : But Mrs. Callahan, you know he would rather be cheated by me than married to you.

  • Frenchy : Get out before I kill you!

Tom Destry Jr. : You mean you haven't been tryin'?

  • Tom Destry Jr. : Don't let me interfere with your dinner, ma'am.

    Frenchy : It's breakfast.

  • Washington Dimsdale : Frenchy, am I really Sheriff?

    Frenchy : Sure you are!

Washington Dimsdale : Then I'm off the liquor. A man's got to choose between the bottle and the badge.

  • Frenchy : We're rich!

Gyp Watson : I'll get my gal's teeth plugged with diamonds and just sit and watch her smile.

  • Frenchy : What are you doing?

    Clara : I didn't do it! I didn't do it!

Frenchy : What's the matter with you?

Clara : Oh, Miss Frenchy, I was just tryin' to shut out the boomin' and the bangin' of them there pop guns.

Frenchy : What do you expect in a town like this?

Clara : I expect I's just gonna remain a mass of quiverin' flesh.

  • [Wash announces he will send for Tom Destry to be his Deputy Sheriff]

    Frenchy : But Destry's dead!

Bugs Watson : That makes him the right man for the job.

Gyp Watson : Save us a lot of trouble.

Washington Dimsdale : Is that so? Well, young Tom ain't dead and his father brought him up to be the toughest and fightin'est man that ever growed up in the West! He ain't got as big a name as his pa, but he cleaned up Tombstone and I'm sendin' for him to be my deputy and when he gets here, Destry will ride again!

  • [Boris has bet and lost his pants in game of poker]

Boris : Frenchy, think of my position. I've met every king in Europe!

Frenchy : Now you've met two aces in Bottleneck. Off with your pants.

  • Frenchy : All or nothin', I always say.

  • Frenchy : The longer they wait, the better they like it.

  • Frenchy : [singing]  I should be brave and say, Let's have no more of it, But, oh, what's the use when you know, I love - it...

  • Tom Destry Jr. : You know, I've seen hundreds like you, all the way from Jacksonville to Sacramento, and you all think easy pickins will last forever.

Frenchy : You better mind your own business or you're heading for trouble.

Tom Destry Jr. : Trouble *is* my business.

Frenchy : Well, you'll have plenty from me!

  • Tom Destry Jr. : Oh, now, come on. I don't think you're half as bad as you make out to be.

Frenchy : Never mind what I am.

  • Kent : Did you have any callers at the house today?

Frenchy : Men, women or children?

Kent : Start actin' smart with me and I'll slap you around!

  • Tom Destry Jr. : Have you been throwin' things again?

Frenchy : How did you know?

Tom Destry Jr. : Well, I read a book once it said women always look their best in the peace and quiet that follows a storm of violence.

Frenchy : That's pretty good. Would've been much nicer if you'd thought of that yourself.

Tom Destry Jr. : Well, as a matter of fact, I did.

  • Frenchy : Everybody thirsty? Bartender!

    [singing]

Frenchy : See what the boys in the backroom will have, And tell them I'm having the same...

  • Frenchy : I'm going back to New Orleans.

Tom Destry Jr. : Well, folks are all gonna miss you around here. All except a few wives, I suppose.

    Frenchy : What about you?

Tom Destry Jr. : Me too.

  • Frenchy : Tom. Oh, Tom, would you kiss a fellow good-bye?
