"This cello is a true find... those that hear it, weep..." Destiny Entertainment has unveiled an official trailer for a mystery horror film titled The Cello, the latest film from acclaimed horror filmmaker Darren Lynn Bousman. This is actually a Saudi Arabian production, featuring a story about a talented Saudi cellist. Based on the book by Turki Al Alshikh, The Cello, stars Jeremy Irons, Tobin Bell (the Saw series), Syrian actor Samer Ismail and Saudi actress Elham Ali, in the story of an aspiring cellist who learns the cost of his brand-new cello is a lot more insidious than he first thought. The film was shot on location in Saudi Arabia and the Czech Republic. It almost seems like this is a live-action horror version of that fantastic Futurama episode "The Devil's Hands Are Idle Playthings", where Fry swaps with the (Robot) Devil's hands so he can play his music better,...

Emirati Movie
British actor Jefferson Hall will soon appear on screen in Emirati director Nayla Al Khaja’s psychological thriller “Three,” about a young boy who appears to be possessed.
Al Khaja – who is known for standout shorts including horror film “The Shadow” and “Animal” that both play on Netflix – has just wrapped the independently-produced “Three,” her debut feature, which was shot in Thailand.
Besides, Hall, “Three” also stars Faten Ahmed; Noura Alabed (“Wiladah”); veteran U.A.E. actor Mari Al Halyan (“On Borrowed Time”); Mohannad Bin Huthail (“Rashash”) and emerging Emirati talent Saud Alzarooni.
“Three” marks a rare case of a drama in which a Brit becomes enmeshed with the core of an Emirati family. The film unfolds in an unspecified modern-day Middle Eastern city, where a young boy named Ahmed begins exhibiting strange behavior, eventually leading his mother Maryam, to believe he is possessed. It’s no mystery why Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building” is nominated for 17 Emmy Awards including comedy series, actor and guest actor and actress: a delish plot, snappy dialogue, pitch-perfect directing, and a cast to die for led by Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez. They are “The Three Amigos” for the 21st century. To celebrate the series, which recently had its second season finale, why not look at some fun facts and trivia of the cast many of whom already have mantle full of honors.

Teresa Wright and Matt Damon in 'The Rainmaker' Teresa Wright: From Marlon Brando to Matt Damon (See preceding post: "Teresa Wright vs. Samuel Goldwyn: Nasty Falling Out.") "I'd rather have luck than brains!" Teresa Wright was quoted as saying in the early 1950s. That's understandable, considering her post-Samuel Goldwyn choice of movie roles, some of which may have seemed promising on paper.[1] Wright was Marlon Brando's first Hollywood leading lady, but that didn't help her to bounce back following the very public spat with her former boss. After all, The Men was released before Elia Kazan's film version of A Streetcar Named Desire turned Brando into a major international star. Chances are that good film offers were scarce. After Wright's brief 1950 comeback, for the third time in less than a decade she would be gone from the big screen for more than a year.

There are still twelve months to go before the world gets to see the newest adventures of Charlie Brown in the Peanuts movie, but as is the case with marketing in today’s cinematic climate, audiences are growing to expect teaser materials at least a year in advance. So, after dropping the first trailer earlier this month, 20th Century Fox has now revealed who will be voicing the iconic characters based on Charles M. Schulz’s original comic series.
The cast of characters in the CGI-animated romp all originate from the classic children’s strip comic of the same name. When I was a kid I was always drawn to stories with fantasy elements, like Harvey, Here Comes Mr. Jordan, On Borrowed Time and Death Takes a Holiday. Introducing unexplainable or mystical elements into a real-world setting is hard to resist, when it’s done right. If I had a 10-to-12-year-old child, I would take them to see The Odd Life of Timothy Green, because it traffics in that kind of everyday fantasy and plays it with sincerity. If it whets a young person’s appetite to see more of this kind of storytelling, that’s great. I’m only sorry it isn’t a better movie. Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton play a loving couple who want a baby more than...

Chicago – As a graduate of the University of Illinois, I can tell you there is one time of the year that is very close to my heart, and many others in the Champaign-Urbana community. That is the last weekend of April every year which brings us Roger Ebert’s Film Festival (aka Ebertfest). And tonight, the lineup for the 14th Annual Ebertfest was announced and includes some very exciting guests.
Returning to the Virginia Theatre in Champaign, Il, Ebertfest 2012 will feature 14 different films with special guests and panel discussions after each screening. Gold Circle Films has optioned the film rights to David Rosenfelt's novel "On Borrowed Time" reports Deadline.
The Hitchcockian thriller follows a journalist who's about to ask his girlfriend to marry him when they get into an accident and she disappears. Her family and even his friends claim she never existed.
As he writes about his ordeal in magazine articles, it's unclear whether the journalist is delusional, the subject of memory experiments, or is the victim of a conspiracy. Rosenfelt also penned the Edgar Award-nominated "Open & Shut".

David Rosenfelt's novel On Borrowed Time has been optioned by Gold Circle Films, according to Deadline. The novel is said to be a "Hitchcockian thriller", which was published by St. Martin's Press. Rosenfelt was once a marketing executive who has transformed into a screenwriter and then an author.

Rosenfelt's first novel, Open & Shut, was nominated for an Edgar Award. The series focused on "a lawyer who takes on impossible cases, particularly if they involve dogs." I have not read either of his novels but the storys are intriguing.

Child actor who played Boy, the foundling son of Tarzan and Jane, in eight Hollywood films
After three hit Tarzan movies starring Johnny Weissmuller in the title role and Maureen O'Sullivan as Jane, MGM decided to give a son to the apeman and his mate in Tarzan Finds a Son! (1939). However, he had to be a foundling because, according to the Legion of Decency, the scantily clad jungle couple were not married, and presumably never had sex. "Boy", as he was named, was played by Johnny Sheffield, who has died aged 79 of a heart attack at his California home after falling off a ladder while pruning a tree.
