Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger officially become ‘The Archers’ for this sterling morale-propaganda picture lauding the help of the valiant Dutch resistance. It’s a joyful show of spirit, terrific casting (with a couple of surprises) and first-class English filmmaking.

Three acclaimed foreign-born filmmakers are headed to the small screen for several ambitious TV series.
"The Deep" and "Contraband" filmmaker Baltasar Kormakur, currently shooting the high-profile "Everest," will direct and produce the ten-part crime drama series "Trapped" for Rvk Studios.
Sigurjon Kjartansson and Clive Bradley are penning the series about the investigation of an unidentified corpse found at the bottom of a fjord after an International ferry arrives in a small town. When a blizzard strikes, the only road in and out become impassable.
Next up, Oscar-winning "The Great Beauty" director Paolo Sorrentino is set to write and direct his first TV series "The Young Pope" for Sky Italia and Wildside. Sorrentino will helm all eight episodes and co-write them with Stefano Rulli and Umberto Contarello.

The 67th Edinburgh International Film Festival kicks off this evening with the European premiere of Breathe In, Drake Doremus’ dark family drama starring Felicity Jones and Guy Pearce, and then continues for a further eleven days until it draws to a close with the world premiere of John McKay’s romantic comedy Not Another Happy Ending.
The programme, which has been lovingly put together by Artistic Director Chris Fujiwara and his trusted team, contains all the necessary ingredients to appease both die-hard cinema fans and those simply looking to catch the next big thing a few weeks before anyone else. To find the films worth seeing though is a tricky task – something that this article could help with.
I’ve scoured the jam-packed programme and come up with ten films (included below with brief descriptions and screening details) that should not be missed:

Following a slew of new posters it’s time for another round-up of the latest one-sheets to hit the interwebs, including Bruce Willis’ latest Catch 44, the Mark Wahlberg flick Contraband, hockey comedy Goon, animated family film Happy Feet 2 and Journey 2: The Mysterious Island.
Catch .44
For Tes (Malin Akerman) and her two cohorts Kara (Nikki Reed) and Tara (Deborah Ann Woll), the job sounded simple enough: intercept a double-cross drug shipment for their crime boss Mel (Bruce Willis) at an isolated diner. But when an unstoppable chain of events unfolds, everyone soon realizes no one is who they seem and the job may be something other than eliminating the competition. What started as simple instructions has now turned into a deadly cat-and-mouse game – with large guns pointed at everyone. Catch .44 also stars Brad Dourif, Michael Rosenbaum and Shea Whigham.

Last year, we shared a heart-warming story about a boy who lived out the dream of becoming a superhero for a day. Thirteen-year-old Erik Martin got his wish courtesy of the Make-a-Wish Foundation and hundreds of volunteers in Bellevue and Seattle, Washington.
Martin, as his superhero alter ego, Electron Boy, saved the Seattle Sounders soccer team and the city itself from the evil clutches of Dr. Dark and Blackout Boy and even got his own comic book. (Read about his super-powered day here.)
Martin lost his battle with liver cancer last week at the age of fourteen. Many inspired by his story have transformed Electron Boy’s Facebook fan page into a place to leave an online tribute to Erik and his family. Over the weekend, the Seattle Sounders held a moment of silence for Erik aka Electron Boy’s passing. His spirit of a heroism has touched the hearts of many around the globe.

Erik Martin, a thirteen year-old boy living with liver cancer, got his wish answered with the help of the Make-a-Wish Foundation and hundreds of volunteers in Bellevue and Seattle, Washington.
For Erik, April 29th started like any other, but his day took an extraordinary turn when Spider-Man called on him at school. Spidey was one of the few people on earth to know Erik’s secret identity as a crime-fighting superhero called Electron Boy, who “fights the powers of evil with light”. On this day, Spider-Man needed Electron Boy’s help.
Here was the predicament: Villains named Dr. Dark and Blackout Boy had taken the Seattle Sounders football (that’s soccer, not pigskin) team prisoner in a locker room at Qwest Field.
