- Millionaire Baron de Courtland and his fiancée Linda Stewart employ Jim Logan as a guide for their hunting trip in the jungle. Linda finds unplanned adventure in her sudden love for Jim, ultimately forsaking her future with the Baron for the joys of true love.—Ed Stephan <stephan@cc.wwu.edu>
- Linda Stewart and Fay Thorpe are guests on Baron de Courtland's yacht as it anchors at M'Pola, West Africa. The Baron is going on Safari, and Linda wants him to propose and decides to try and arouse his jealousy. Jock McPhail, a Scottish trader, meets the boat and his friend, Jim Logan, who is to guide the safari, is due that evening. Jim throws a party for Jock, and the Baron and his guests come to the celebration and take the only vacant table, which is Jock's. Linda is intrigued by Jim, but the latter wants to get into the European war and refuses to lead the expedition. Linda dares him to roll the dice with her to decide the issue and he loses. Linda joins the hunt using Jim as a pawn to precipitate the Baron's proposal. At the jungle camp, Jim decides to fly over the area they will travel, and Linda accompanies him. They land in the jungle where he takes her to task for her obvious scheme to make the Baron jealous. Darkness makes flying back unsafe and they spend the night in the jungle. Insanely jealous, the Baron goes hunting, wounds a leopard and sends an unharmed native boy to finish it. The boy is killed and Jim, on his return calls the Baron a murderer. The Baron is incensed and decides to do away with Jim.—Les Adams <longhorn1939@suddenlink.net>
