Sex & Nudity

  • A shipboard romance plot between the protagonist and a woman. There is mutual admiration, flirting and several kisses. He jokingly complains that every time he sees her she is never fully dressed. She does show skin but nothing tasteless or explicit.
  • When asked, the captain claims the reason he stole army money is he had "gotten in a jam with some dame," meaning getting a woman pregnant, needing money for an abortion.

Violence & Gore

  • The protagonist gets knocked over the head several times with a bludgeon, knocking him out. Behind a room screen, as he lays on the ground, Dr. Lorenz then beats him repeatedly with his cane. When he comes to hours later, his face is marred by a large abrasion and he seems contused.

Profanity

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Alcohol: Social drinking and one scene where a character appears to drink to excess, passing out in his compartment. Later a chronic drunkard is introduced, which lead to men to use him as a front for illegal activity. The man cannot walk straight, though he is not seen to drink. Other characters make demeaning comments about him.
  • Drugs: None
  • Smoking Tobacco: Almost all characters seem to smoke something in many scenes.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • All the action meets up to the finale where the hero is desperate to stop the saboteurs.
