Like most national-socialistic propaganda movies the movie was banned in 1945. In the 1970s a re-release of the movie was made in the "Bellaria-Kino" theater in Vienna, one of Vienna's oldest movie theaters, which lead to many protests.

Vienna's mayor Dr. Karl Lueger was known for his antisemitism. Adolf Hitler admired him and described him in his book "Mein Kampf" as his tutor. Hitler was also at Lueger's funeral.
