The only theatrical film that legendary conductor Arturo Toscanini ever appeared in. All of his other screen appearances were either in documentaries containing archive footage, or on television, where he appeared in ten concerts which were televised live.
The film was one of 26 shorts made during WWII by the Office of War Information, to show viewers overseas about America and it's values. It is unfortunate that the original 1943 version has been tampered with, by removing pro-Russia material during the Cold War years and by adding later historical material.
