When explaining his secret formula to neutralize poison gas, Pop Lambert says that the Germans first used poison gas in 1914. This is not true. The first use of poison gas by the Germans was on April 22, 1915.
When Brad Craig uses the fire hose on Panhandle Mitchell and other students in the dorm room, there is a senior cadet there also. He's the one wearing the high leather boots. The senior gets the fire hose treatment too, which is a huge mistake by Craig. Craig could possibly withstand punishment for hosing down a sophomore (Mitchell), but to include a senior cadet could become a matter for Cadet Court and lead to serious disciplinary repercussions.
When Brad Craig gets off the train at College Station, the train is headed north. Craig early said that he had difficultly with catching the train in Dallas. If he came down from Dallas, the train would be headed south.
As with all wartime movies made during the 1940s, this film has many aircraft errors. First, the attacking Japanese are flying Grumman F-4F Wildcats painted with "meatballs" on their wings and fuselages. Second, Brad Craig is flying a Curtiss SNC-1 Falcon, painted to look like a Japanese plane, when he crashes the carrier deck. Third, Cyanide Jenkins is shown flying a Douglas SBD Dauntless at the beginning of his flight, but attacks the Japanese carrier flying a F-4 Wildcat.
