Nora Bayes and Jack Norworth debuted "Shine On, Harvest Moon" in Florenz Ziegfeld's Follies of 1908, yet the theater marquee reads Ziegfeld Revue - Follies Of 1907.
During the Harvest Moon number near the end, the stage has the horse and carriage going left to right and then later going right to left, creating the illusion of the horse and carriage moving down a winding road closer toward the audience. However, the horse and carriage then moving left to right again closer to the audience started before the previous right to left move had cleared the stage and for an instant both can be seen.
The film's events in New York City take place circa 1907-1908, and a completed Manhattan Bridge is shown with traffic flowing across its upper level. Yet the Manhattan Bridge was still under construction during this time, and did not open to traffic until December 31, 1909.
The Technicolor finale takes place in 1907; however, the musical arrangements and chorus girls' costumes, makeup and hairstyles are strictly 1944.
