- An ex-convict on his way to make his fortune in a gold mine in Arizona has his trip interrupted when the residents of a small Mexican village believe him to be a sacred religious figure.
- Former gang leader Charlie Dakin (John Carroll) leaves prison with the Warden's parting advice. Outside, his mild , devoted is waiting to take him to an abandoned Arizona mine where a million dollars in gold from the last haul is hidden. Rival gangster Max Giorga (Barton MacLane) and a henchman secretly trail them. At a remote village near the mine Dakin meets lovely Raquel Chavez (Adele Mara). They fall in love. Giogrio locates Dakin. At gunpoint, he forces him into a deal in which a corrupt claim-file clerk also takes part. The gold will be salted in the mine, dug up, and sold to the government as newly-mined. Raquel's father, Dr. Chavez (Thomas Gomez), devotes himself to the village welfare. When Dakin displays samples of gold he says he found in the long-abandoned mine, the villagers think it is the work of the region's much-loved saint - the Blue Lady -a sure proof of Dakin's goodness and purity of heart. When all the gold is converted to cash, Giorgo kills the crooked clerk. But Dakin has changed. He fights Giorgo to save the money for the people. In a desperate battle, Giorgo is killed.
