Tom falls for the charms of Toodles, a sexy female feline who just happens to be absolutely minted. The amorous cat tries to impress the girl with gifts—some flowers and Jerry on a leash—but finds that the course of true love never runs smooth, especially when alley-cat Butch becomes his love rival (after a little encouragement from Jerry).
Okay, so the set-up might not be all that original, Tom having fallen for the charms of a sexy female cat a couple of times before, but this cartoon is loaded with such charm that it still remains a lot of fun. (so long as you're not offended by Jerry dancing while in black-face). My favourite moment is an oldie but a goodie: Butch is catapulted out of a room so fast that, for a fraction of a second, he leaves his face behind.
Casanova Cat once again ends with the rather strange sight of Jerry indulging in a spot of inter-species love, the mouse beating out both cats for the attention of Toodles.
