In an interview Eve Arden said that she had received several offers from various high schools to be an English teacher. Even if she were qualified to be a teacher, she said she couldn't afford the pay cut. She was making over $200,000 a year, which was equivalent to about $2,000,000 in 2015.
Richard Crenna was one of the first (if not the first) adult actors, over 21 years-old playing a regular role as a high school teenager on television.
