Walk the line,Caroline!

"Caroline Chérie " was one the biggest blockbusters of the French fifties and it made Martine Carol the actress of the era ,just before Brigitte Bardot dethroned her."Un caprice de Caroline" was the sequel but it was not as buoyant and as eventful as the first film,by a long shot.Whereas the first took place during the French Revolution, this one concerns the Napoleon wars.

In Italy where her husband is a military man ,Caroline falls in love with Livio (Jean-Claude Pascal)...who is an enemy!(hence the title)

The film featured nudity ,which was risqué for the time. And of course,it was not among the Catholic Office of Cinema 's favorites.
