- Comedy and drama as three women, including one with her baby, escape from prison.
- Seeking the whereabouts of international gangster Nick Randall, the U.S. State Department seeks the help of Scotland Yard. Nick's girl, Angela, is currently in a British prison, but has refused to give Nick away. So the authorities contact Gran' Ramsey, a stoolie currently at the same prison as Angela, to have her arrange an escape for Angela, so the police can follow her to Nick. Gran' stages a getaway, the two women taking with them a third, Marguerite, whose prison-born baby is about to be turned over to the welfare department. It is up to Gran' to keep the police informed of Angela's whereabouts without being detected by the escapees, while waiting for Angela to contact Nick...—Rich Wannen <RichWannen@worldnet.att.net>
- Angela has fallen in love with Nick, a rich salvager, who is leaving on a business trip incommunicado. They arrange to meet at a special place on New Year's Eve and be married, then part. But when Angela goes to quit her job at Lord's seedy nightclub, he attacks her and, defending herself, she injures him. With lack of witnesses and his own power, Lord is able to have Angela jailed as the assailant, with the sentence extending into the New Year. Unable to contact Nick about her plight or circumstances, she is panicked that he will return, not find her and assume he has been jilted. Gran' Ramsey, a perennial prisoner and escape artist par excellence, takes pity on Angela and arranges for the two of them to escape, the idea being Angela will rendezvous with Nick, explain what has happened, then return to jail. Accompanying them is Marguerite, another prisoner, whose new baby is about to be taken from her and turned over to welfare: her objective is to get the baby to relatives. Gran' thus has her work cut out for her, keeping Angela and Marguerite safely free until their needs are met, with the police in hot pursuit...—Rich Wannen <RichWannen@worldnet.att.net>
