INFANTILE KITSCH
J. Steed3 June 1999
Warning: Spoilers
Take care to have plenty of handkerchiefs at hand when watching this terrible and infantile Kitsch full of false sentimentality and appalling mores. The story concerns a little boy too sick to sing, but do we want him to open his mouth at all? I could not wait to see dreadful Peter, a strong argument against children's rights, at last shut up forever. The story is enhanced (?) by sub stories for the love's interest making it a further unbearable experience as these involve people whose passion does not go any further than firm handshakes. The cast is uniformly dull. Not badly made, but the subject is just too awful.

When the Cossacks Choir once again bursted out in "Kalinka" I thought that sending them to Siberia would not have been a bad option, but if still a fan you better buy some CD's instead.
