Sex & Nudity

  • A few subtle jokes.
  • None, the show is very good natured. Some episodes revolve around potential boyfriend/girlfriend relationships, and quarrels that result from it, however nothing explicit is ever shown/happens.

Violence & Gore

  • Wards childhood stories sometimes involved him telling June that he had a busted lip or bloody nose etc we never see this.
  • Nothing apart from the occasional schoolyard fight/bullying.

Profanity

  • No profanity at all it was illegal to use profanity in public or on TV at the time.
  • In season 4 Wally says for Christs sake it was quite shocking but isn't brought up.
  • In season 4 it's implied that Beaver swore although we never hear the word its implied that the word was quite strong.
  • Some accidental racism towards native Americans the show tried to be as inclusive as possible but during segregation it was hard.
  • Sexist language is used like chick and babe.
  • None, though some characters do occasionally heckle and bully one another. No explicit language is used.

  • The pilot was banned for featuring a toilet in the bathroom and wouldn't Air until the 70s, thats why there is no toilet in the show after the pilot
  • The children sometimes get in trouble with law enforcement.
