a typical Peter Alexander film
cynthiahost21 November 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Although I did see the movie ,i finally read the plot on this i.m.d.b. and it confused me even more.Peter is away been playing good fellows ,but, never bad guys. His talents weren't being explored in his life time, but, that was his decision.Peter is playing a part of a starving jazz band ,who works on a farm to support his jazz group.Another part of the film you got a black American singer ,Jane Richards, played by a 45 year old actress and foreign influenced singer June Richmond, who looks younger than that, singing the song ,"why i am singing the blues"? wasn't that a rock a billy hit in the u.s.a.? German character Actress Grethe Wieser plays a head of what I thought was a under funded orphanage, but an under funded school for high I.Q. kids.Peter gets a job in that school to fund his band better.Rudolph Platte plays a professor of music in this school. It's so under funded that the school can only afford just vegetables. that even the school staff hates.Peter decided that jazz needs to be included in the studies and to make it a music schools in order to draw more support by a classical music lover,I thinks.B.b. Johns plays one of the teacher ,who has a singing ability, but is to shy to show it.Pete even takes her to one of his favorite jazz clubs and he tries to get her to sing but she too shy .She ends up singing to the driver who takes she and peter back home instead. When the whole school sets up a talent show to get that extra funding ,Bi Bi finally sings to every ones.this was an excellent Peter Alexander musical, that unfortunately, unless they change their minds,Turner classic movies would never show it on their import.Who ever hear of Peter Alexander. Many of us real classic film fans know who he is, the mainstream may not know who he is or care.Real the year I was born. 11/21/13
