The baroness,played by Margrete Haagen, the Margeret Hamilton of Germany, is broke A want s her son The baron,played by Joachim Fursberger,married the daughter,played by Karin Dor,of a wealthy factory owner,played by Werner Fink.But add the fact that Karin doesn't know about it or Joachim He seem to have his own plan he has been working on building an inn for his Heimat land but lack the funds Hans Moser is an inn keep and pub owner, where Karin and her father are staying The twins and there are four pair in this picture,played by Isa Gunther and Jutta Gunther, with a special appearance of the Kessler twin, all blond.They work at a small inn run by their father as waitresses and maids on the hills are alive, with the sound of music,ha ha ha ha. No wonder that movie bombed in Austria, it was viewed as a Heimat movie too long.Well their a college student working part time at Mosers inn,played by Albert Rueprecht.Well both the daughters father and the baroness are planning the young ones future. Normally Karin Dor has blond hair but in this one she reveals her auburn hair.So she a dyed blond.But when the baroness lets her son know about her plans he laughs at it and doesn't take it seriously. When the father let's Karin know about it she pitches a fit and is determine to stop this by making trouble with the baroness. But her character, the daughter, is hyper active any way. She acts more to try to get out of it.The twins who are the friends of the Baron don't like it and help him to try to get out of it, Besides on of the twins is in love with the baron.Then a reporter an impresario ,Konstatin played by Wolfgang Gruner,come to the place to put on a contest for the best Hiemat singer and to report for their second annual Heimat parade and festival. In Heimatville there is nothing else to do.The parade is portrayed in the same town that Kaiserjager was produced.Did Rodgers and Hamerstien saw that saw this movie that might of contribute to the inspiration of The sound of music?Tthier are bill goats galore and short pants uniforms."Hi on a hill live's a lonely goat saying Olayee Olayee Olayee OO,"!ha ha ha ha ha .Opps I was right this inspired the first film version of the sound of music which was shot in Germany and Austria, possibly.At first Karin thinks he's an old goat and is told that he is on one of the hills. When she tries to go on that hill some goat" Olya EE! Olya ee! Olya ee oo!", bother hers she cries for help. He comes down the hill but is unaware that she the daughter. Helps her out. When they finally see each other again at his place, they are determine to get out of it some how. So they pretend to agree on it. He even sarcastically states the money would go good for his big inn. Later on Albert and Karin starts falling in love with each other but feels that it is impossible since he's a college student and poor.Their first annual Heimat singing contest where every one is costumed up in the sound of music style. Drinking beer hosted by the reporter. Most of the music is Heimatish until Dor come in too it and sings a bee bop song which all of a sudden the younger crowd starts to cheer and a modern swing orchestra starts to pops out of no where. This lead to a big fight. the next date the reporter tries to convince the twins that they are such good singers that he want to represent them on singing tour but they turn it down.In the second festival there is goat fighting contest, a wrestling contest too in which Joachim participates and wins, He gets one of the twins to give him the wreath and kisses her .she runs off cause she in love with him and feels she can't have him cause he's engaged. The other twin has fallen in love with the reporter.The next day. Joachim tries to find the other twins but her father tells him that both twins went on tour. Karin r feels her love with Albert is impossible too.So both Joachim and Karin set the date. Meant time Albert has graduated from Heimat U and Moser his employer meet him for congratulations, As they are celebrating at a club the graduation the reporter shows up and the twins. They all decided to attempted to stop the marriage to get their love ones. they show up out side of the marriage bureau and start yodeling, the twins . Both Karin and Joachim hears it and they come out to meet their true love. The baroness faints.Thiers a big weeding for all couples including the Baroness and the business man. Hans keeps hinting in the picture about his earlier film Rosen in Tirol.
