This movie inspired Stephen King to use the name Christine for his novel about a haunted 1958 Plymouth Fury. He chose it because this movie and the Plymouth both came out in 1958.
This was Romy Schneider's first film in France. As she did not speak French fluently, she was dubbed by Gilberte Aubry who had already lent her voice to Schneider for the Sissi trilogy.
Baron Eggersdorf is played by Carl Lange in the German version and by Jean Galland in the French version.
