- Some women are shown locked in tubs where they cannot move and are forced to endure the heat and screams of others. This is their therapy for their mental illnesses. One of the sanitarium patients tricks Hepburn's Sister Luke into opening her cell door and entering the cell alone under the false premise of needing water, then attacks Sister Luke trying to kill her in order to escape.
