WORTHLESS PETER VOSS SEQUEL
J. Steed27 June 1999
Worthless, talkative and annoying sequel to the Peter Voss film of 1958. Due to the terrible direction of Georg Marishka it misses the elements that made part 1 such fun: humour and flair. The script is bad and disjointed and contains a very illogical plot in which O.W. Fischer has to disguise himself ad nauseam. Fischer is okay but cannot save this dud, and has to carry the film by himself, as the rest of the cast - including that overrated (as sex kitten, that is) Linda Christian - is uniformly boring. The Peter Voss series was not continued after this one, but at least one Bobby Dodd rip-off was made.

not all that good

Warning: Spoilers
The only thing going for it is the exotic settings and the cinematography.I already know the story from the original one, released after the Nazi's lost the war.The 1959 remake ,I saw the trailer, turns Peter Voss banker into a swinger James bond spy, before James bond. This was not the original characters intention ,originally played by victor Dekowa. Although the remake was better ,this isn't. It may be fairly entertaining, that's it.This time Peter Voss, played again by O.W. Fischer. He's retired to his Heimat farm ,up in the Hills of Austria. This is does not mix well,Heimat and secret agent? With his house cleaner ,played by Lucie English.A lawyer friend wants him to follow his ward ,Mary De La Roche , played by Helga Sommerfeld, who is engaged to an alleged prince, played by Peter Vogel. The lawyer suspects he is just after her money.Whats confusing that she disappears out of the film and another actress shows up.Tyrone Powers wife Linda Christians, who I found out was raised up internationally and could speak German. This did not help the fact that this was not good ,which hurt her career.I thought she was the women,Grace Mcnaughty,he was following. It turns out he, Peter, is a part of a gang of thugs who want her money, Peter Mosbacher, as Baron De Clock,Charley Der Jockey, played by Rolf Wolters,Leslie from Texas, played by Ady Berber and Dolly ,played by Ingmar Ziesberg. They all want her Money. So Peter is out to make sure that does not happen,But as I said he spends more time with Linda instead.Walter Giller is once again in this sequel as Bobby Dodd,I think side kick. Well in so many disguises,in this travelogue , he manages to stop the Mary from making a mistake.Which she finely shows up near the end of the picture. It's entertaining but slow,in the beginning and picks up speed but only moderately . In the end you see Voss back home at the farm eating Swiss vanilla Ice scream balls. What a story 11/29/12
