When Jack Benny appeared as a celebrity guest on the game show 'Password (1961)', he got the word "miser" and gave his first clue as, "Me!" thus bringing down the house.
The CBS daytime version is lost, except for the last year or so (1966-1967). The ABC version is also largely lost.
In 1967, on the milestone of the 1500th episode of Password (1961), Allen Ludden was presented with a tiny trophy and the reading of a proclamation by that week's guest stars Joan Fontaine and Jack Jones.
Betty White hosted a week of shows while Allen Ludden, the regular host, and Paul Williams played the game. These shows aired March 24-28, 1975.
Robert Cobert composed the 2nd theme for the series, which was used from 1963 until 1967. Cobert also composed the music for the ABC daytime supernatural soap opera, Dark Shadows (1966), which ironically, this series' revival replaced in 1971.
