Unreleased in the UK until 31 August 1964 after it was cut to 70 minutes and put out as supporting film to "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" on the ABC circuit. (Filmed and copyrighted in 1962).
The setting of the film was the so-called Cyprus Emergency (1955-1959). The British colony of Cyprus, an island in the eastern Mediterranean, had a guerrilla revolt with the aim to gain independence. The "Emergency" ended with the London-Zürich Agreements (1959), and Cyprus gained Independence in 1960.
The film is set in British Cyprus. The islands of Cyprus was under British rule from 1878 to 1960.
