Daniel Roebuck has racked up over 250 credits over the course of a career that has lasted nearly 40 years so far, and our friends at Bloody Disgusting have just broken the news that one of his next credits will be on writer/director Damien Leone’s Terrifier 3, which is set to receive a theatrical release on October 25th. According to the site, Roebuck will be appearing in the film as Santa Claus. It seems fitting, because Roebuck was already in Santa mode for a family-friendly movie called Saint Nick of Bethlehem, which he co-wrote and co-directed. That movie will be released later this year as well.
Roebuck provided the following statement: “I’ve been holding this secret for a long time! I’ve been really excited about it. I’m actually entering into the movies that I watch. It’s extraordinary. This is Terrifier bigger, badder, best.“

Hunting for the Hag begins with Tara sitting across the table from a rather sceptical lawyer who keeps telling her the footage on her laptop won’t help her out of the mess she’s in. She reminds him that he was the one who contacted her, and if he doesn’t actually watch the footage, or she’s leaving.
The footage also begins with Tara, noticeably lacking the facial scar she had in the opening scenes, introducing herself as we find out that she, along with her friends Beth and Candy are setting out to get footage of the entity known as The Hawthorne Hag (Nathan Brandon Gaik; Dead Bodies Everywhere).
You might be thinking that it sounds like, director Paul A. Brooks and co-writer...

Rob Zombie has said that for every one film project of his that moves forward, there are five potential projects that fall by the wayside. We haven’t heard of quite that many unmade Rob Zombie movies, but we have heard of several over the years that never got off the ground… and unfortunately, most of them sounded pretty interesting. A little over a year ago, Zombie had said he didn’t know what his next movie is going to be, but he did know what it’s not going to be: he won’t be continuing his Firefly franchise, and he doesn’t want to make a sequel to The Munsters (which was poorly received). So while he figures out his next cinematic move, we we have put together a list of Rob Zombie Movies We Want To See!

"The Ballad of Gilligan's Island," penned by executive producer and show creator Sherwood Schwartz and songwriter George Wyle holds the distinction of being the best TV theme song of all time. It might only be tied with the theme song to "The Brady Bunch" ... which was also co-written by Schwartz. In both cases, the theme songs cleverly weave earworm-ready melodies into explicit descriptions of the show's premise. In only 55 seconds, audiences learn that they're about to watch a sitcom about seven stranded castaways on a tropical island, how those castaways got there, and who each of the castaways are. "The Ballad of Gilligan's Island" is both hummable and functional. Even the amazing surf guitars of "The Munsters" or the wicked pip organs of "Tales from the Crypt" cannot approach the utilitarian glories of "Gilligan."

Earlier this month, we shared the news that Anchor Bay Entertainment – which used to be a major player in the horror world back in the late ’90s and early 2000s, when they gave DVD releases to films like the Evil Dead trilogy, George A. Romero’s Dead trilogy, the Sleepaway Camp franchise, The Hills Have Eyes, The Car, Maniac, Prom Night, some of the Hellraisers, Halloweens, and much more – is being revived, with their first two releases puppet horror film Abruptio and Dinner with Leatherface, a documentary that looks at the life, career, and legacy of original Leatherface actor Gunnar Hansen. Now we’ve learned that the new Anchor Bay has acquired the North American rights to the horror/comedy Crust, with the plan being to release it sometime later this year.

We learned last week that iconic label Anchor Bay Entertainment is coming back to life here in 2024, and founders Thomas Zambeck and Brian Katz have announced this morning that they have acquired the North American rights to the horror/comedy Crust, which will have its release later this year.
Directed by Sean Whalen (The People Under The Stairs), who co-wrote the film with Jim Wald, Crust stars Whalen, Daniel Roebuck (Rob Zombie’s The Munsters), Rebekah Kennedy (Two Witches), Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp), and Ricky Dean Logan (Back to the Future II), with Shawntay Dalon (“Detroiters”) and Alan Ruck (“Succession”).
“As someone who grew up watching Sean on screen, I am thrilled to be in business with him,” says Zambeck. “The fact that it’s on a witty and clever film like this – one that displays such a mastery of tone – makes it so much sweeter. I can’t wait...

Producer/director Robert Rippberger (Those Who Walk Away) recently wrapped production on the sci-fi thriller Renner, which sees Frankie Muniz and Violett Beane taking on a manipulative A.I. Now Rippberger is heading to the European Film Market in Berlin to launch sales on his slate of upcoming films – the first project in the line-up being a horror thriller creature feature called Monstrosity, which is reminiscent of the classic sitcom The Munsters (which recently received a feature film update from Rob Zombie) in that it focuses on a family that consists of classic monsters. In this case, a werewolf, a vampire, a zombie, and Frankenstein’s Monster. The mixture also brings to mind the ’80s classic The Monster Squad.
Variety reports that Monstrosity, which is currently in pre-production, has the following synopsis: A young village boy goes missing down a mine shaft. His father blames a strange family in the neighboring house,...

The tropes of horror comedy go back a long way; the genre probably dates to “Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein,” released in 1948, with a few electro-roots in “The Bride of Frankenstein.” Yet the good ones all share something: a combo of flavors — scary and funny, violent and knockabout — that’s bold and tart and bracingly blended. A good horror comedy is a genre smoothie that wakes you right up.
But then there’s “Lisa Frankenstein,” a horror-com smoothie made mostly of ancient, moldy fruit. At this point, what a movie like this one tends to have going against it is the sheer past-the-sell-by-date creakiness of a genre that has now spent too many decades placing monsters and zombies in a so-normal-it’s-wicked high-camp setting. The original ghoulie sitcoms, “The Munsters” and “The Addams Family,” are 60 years old. “Young Frankenstein” is 50 years old. Even monster cereals like Count Chocula and Franken...

William O’Connell, whose extensive TV and film acting credits in the 1960s and ’70s included a memorably villainous role on Star Trek and a string of adversaries in the films of his frequent collaborator Clint Eastwood, died January 15 at his home in Sherman Oaks, CA. He was 94.
His death was announced to Deadline by a family friend. A cause was not disclosed.
O’Connell scored a lengthy roster of TV episodic credits in the 1960s, becoming a busy character actor of the day. He had small roles, often nameless characters distinguished only by their job titles — Flagman, Cabbie, Field Rep. #1 — in Highway Patrol, Peter Gunn and The Twilight Zone, also popping up on Dennis the Menace, My Three Sons, The Outer Limits, Bonanza, The Munsters, Batman and The Lucy Show.

Imagine, if you will, a sleepy small town. The people who live there are hard-working, stubborn, and most of all, suspicious of outsiders. Enter one Bob Majors, a newspaperman from New York. Majors is a man of progress and change, but he's about to come up against a social wall the likes of which he's never seen. It's the kind of obstacle that can only be found in ... well, not "The Twilight Zone."
You might have read that description in the voice of famed "Twilight Zone" creator-narrator Rod Serling, but it's actually the premise of a totally different show in which Serling appeared — reportedly in his first non-narrator acting role — for just one episode in the early 1960s. The series was "Ichabod and Me," a poorly-received and short-lived series whose history is chronicled in David C. Tucker's book "Lost Laughs of '50s and '60s Television." The sitcom...

Saturday night at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, Storm Reid (“The Last of Us”) won the trophy for Best Drama Guest Actress. She plays Riley Abel on the HBO drama series, and this marks her first career victory (on her first nomination) with the Television Academy.
After being delayed since September due to the writers’ strike and actors’ strike, the Creative Arts Emmys for scripted fare finally took place on Saturday, January 6, with more awards for unscripted programs being doled out on Sunday, January 7. The official Primetime Emmys ceremony will air on Fox next Monday, January 15 with Anthony Anderson serving as host.
Reid’s episode, titled “Left Behind,” is a flashback entry focusing on lead character Ellie’s (Bella Ramsey) past. It primarily functions as a two-hander in which the tight-knit military school roommates realize just how deeply they care for each other while covertly spending a night alone in a deserted shopping mall.

Long before Rob Zombie got his hands on the property, Robert Ginty sat in the director’s chair for Here Come The Munsters, a TV movie that made its debut back in 1995.
One of many re-interpretations of the beloved characters that came along in the wake of the original 1960s TV series, Here Come The Munsters featured all new actors in the iconic roles, with Edward Herrmann (The Lost Boys) playing Herman Munster, Veronica Hamel (Cannonball) as Lily Munster, and Robert Morse (The Loved One) as Grandpa Munster.
Telling the tale of the family’s trip from Transylvania to the United States, Here Come The Munsters aired on Fox on Halloween night in 1995, and the film has long been unavailable to watch outside of low quality, unofficial rips on YouTube. But to our surprise, the official Munsters YouTube channel just uploaded the entire movie in HD for the very first time!

Butch Patrick turns 70 today, but he still exhibits the same youthful exuberance he brought to The Munsters as Eddie Munster from 1964 to 1966. From child actor to the classic series’ de facto delegate, I had the pleasure of speaking with Patrick about his unconventional career, The Munsters‘ legacy, and more at NorthEast Comic Con’s Collectibles Extravaganza.
Patrick stumbled into acting. While accompanying his little sister to a print modeling shoot, the photographer asked to take his photo as well. “He took some pictures of me afterward, and he put one in his window. About a month later, a producer and a director were walking by. They were casting a movie, and they still needed the youngest son of Eddie Albert and Jane Wyatt. I wound up getting the movie. It was a great little B-movie called The Two Little Bears.”
He continues, “I went for an interview and got hired,...

Beverly Owen isn’t a name that may be familiar to today’s audiences, but she was an icon on TV. Surprisingly, Owen only had an acting career that spanned less than two decades. However, what she had going for her was to have starred in one of American TV’s most popular shows, The Munsters, in the mid-60s. Although she played the iconic character of Marilyn Munster for a few episodes, it remained her biggest role on television. Sadly, Owen passed away in 2019. Remembering the actress, these are the life and career of Beverly Owen. Beverley Owen’s Early Life Owen was...

In 2022 “Succession” made history by earning 14 acting nominations at the Emmys. That’s the most any show has ever received in a single year. That number was especially remarkable as it came from 16 acting submissions on the Emmy ballot, meaning only two submitted performers failed to make the cut (supporting actor Alan Ruck and guest actor Justin Kirk). In 2023 the show has submitted more actors for consideration (19). So will the show break its own record by earning 15 or more acting noms?

“Succession” series creator Jesse Armstrong writes characters who aren’t equipped for their times – either their inflated egos make them see small slights as momentous personal challenges or their stunted emotional maturity and intellect make them exactly the wrong people to deal with an actual crisis. In the case of “Succession,” it’s often both, and the camera responds accordingly.
Director Mark Mylod and director of photography Patrick Capone have together helmed over 10 episodes of the series together — including Season 4’s Episode 1, “The Munsters,” Episode 3, “Connor’s Wedding,” and Episode 9, “Church and State” — and like to keep the audience just a couple seconds behind and constantly re-finding the characters and the shifting power dynamics of individual scenes. It makes “Succession” look the way it must feel for the Roy siblings: one giant clusterfuck after another.

“Succession” Season 4 is here, kicking off the final episodes of the Emmy-winning HBO series. The Roy family is at an inflection point as the final season begins: Logan (Brian Cox) has cut his children out once and for good, preparing to sell Waystar to a tech giant (headed up by Alexander Skarsgard’s Matsson) and severing ties with Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Shiv (Sarah Snook) and Roman (Kieran Culkin).
After watching three seasons of jaw-dropping backstabbing and plot twists, all eyes are on how this thing ends, and if we’ll finally get an answer to the question posed in the show’s first episode: Who will succeed Logan Roy?
With that in mind, you may be wondering when new episodes of “Succession” air, and what time you can watch them (especially if you’re on the west coast). Here’s a complete “Succession” Season 4 episode release schedule.

Rob Zombie and Waxwork Records have collaborated multiple times in the past, and now they’re working together on a cool new project: a collection of classic horror movie soundtracks that will be released under the banner of “Rob Zombie Presents”! This line of never-before-released soundtracks, personally selected by Zombie, will include Spider Baby, Carnival of Souls, The Last Man on Earth, The House on Haunted Hill, Island of Lost Souls, plus many selections from the Hammer film library… and it all starts with the release of the soundtrack for the 1932 classic White Zombie. Of course it would start with White Zombie.
This 180 gram vinyl release comes in deluxe packaging, with new artwork by Graham Humphreys and liner notes and interviews by Rob Zombie. You can take a look at the White Zombie package at the bottom of this article.

Love him or hate him, Rob Zombie has become one of the prominent and unique voices in the modern horror landscape. His style is immediately recognizable, his choices in aesthetics, casting, and music practically codified. I say this not to criticize Zombie; he’s one of my favorite current filmmakers, and I like or love nearly every single one of his movies.
With two of his films celebrating an anniversary this year – Lords of Salem turns 10, House of 1000 Corpses turns 20 – it seemed like the right time to revisit his filmmaking career so far.
Today we’re ranking Rob Zombie’s entire live action filmography to date…

If I’m being totally honest, this is the one movie on the list I’m not entirely crazy about because, after the relative box office disappointment of Zombie’s experimentation with The Lords of Salem, it feels like he retreated artistically back...

Before becoming one of the most divisive filmmakers in horror with the likes of Halloween and The Munsters, Rob Zombie was just a musician trying his hand at the film industry. House of 1000 Corpses came together fairly quickly following a failed attempt to reboot The Crow, but the rock star’s Hollywood career almost never was due to post-production controversy that left his directorial debut on the shelf for three years.
Production on Corpses was completed in 2000 before Universal Studios refused to release it due to its objectionable content. MGM later came on board to distribute it in 2002 until a tongue-in-cheek remark by Zombie caused them to cancel the deal. Finally, Lions Gate signed on and released it in April of 2003, launching Zombie’s film career as well as a franchise that would be followed by 2005’s The Devil’s Rejects and 2019’s 3 from Hell.

Composer Danny Elfman has expressed his excitement about returning to the world of Beetlejuice, the iconic 1988 film on which he partnered with longtime filmmaking collaborator Tim Burton.
“I love being a fly on the wall when he’s shooting. I’ll be doing that in a couple of months, as you may know, on another Tim Burton project,” said Elfman during the taping for an upcoming episode of Deadline’s The Process, alluding to the sequel. “That is very exciting, to return to that world.”
Elfman shared that someone recently asked him, “Really, after all these years? Michael Keaton?”, referring to the actor’s return as the titular ghoul. “I said, ‘He’s not even going to look that much different. That’s the beauty of the Beetlejuice makeup. He already looked like he was 150 in the first one.'”

Rob Zombie and Waxwork Records have joined forces to release an exclusive, curated line of classic horror movie soundtracks.
The series, called Rob Zombie Presents, will offer several never-before-released film soundtracks that Zombie personally selected.
“I have always been a huge fan of movie soundtracks, so I jumped at the opportunity to work with Waxwork on this project,” Zombie said in a statement. “I can’t wait to release these albums. So many of these films are greatly under-appreciated and they all contain such great music. So to be able to release these deluxe packages is a dream come true.”
The first soundtrack to be released is fittingly the one for White Zombie. The 1932 film starring Bela Lugosi is considered the first-ever zombie movie, and inspired the name for Rob Zombie’s former band, White Zombie. The following contains spoilers for "Succession" season 4.
"Succession" has thrown its game board up in the air. The masterful third episode of season 4, "Connor's Wedding," featured the long-awaited death of Logan Roy (Brian Cox). His children, miles away from their father during his last moments, spent the episode trying to process their loss.
Episode 4, "Honeymoon States," portrays Logan's family and inner circle convening at his apartment for a wake. Also putting in an appearance is a returning face: Marcia Roy (Hiam Abbass), Logan's third and final wife. Last we heard from Kerry (Zoe Winters), Marcia was "shopping in Milan -- forever." She didn't show up for Logan's 81st birthday in the season 4 premiere, "The Munsters." It's genuinely surprising that the peculiar Transylvanian family residing at 1313 Mockingbird Lane was never updated for modern audiences until 2022. "The Munsters" TV show ran on CBS for only two seasons in the mid-1960s and then sat dormant for decades until Rob Zombie finally revived the series, transforming it into a Technicolor feature film that eventually landed on Netflix. The final product served as more of a prequel to the TV series that focused on the bizarre courtship between Herman (Jeff Daniel Phillips) and Lily (Sheri Moon Zombie) before settling down with Lily's grandfather The Count, their son Eddie and their niece Marilyn.
Regardless of whether you're a fan of the 2022 film or not, (/Film's review wasn't exactly kind), Zombie felt like the perfect choice to direct. "The Munsters" was a dream project for the musician and filmmaker who had long been obsessed with the original series and subsequent TV...

The fourth and final season of “Succession” was always going to be an Emmy threat. The HBO drama about a powerful and wealthy New York media family led by Logan Roy (Brian Cox) amassed a whopping 48 nominations and 13 wins throughout its first three seasons. Nearly half of those bids (23) were for acting, so no one should be surprised if/when the Jesse Armstrong-created series earns several more on its way out, beginning with the guest categories and going all the way up the chain. And no one should be surprised if a few of those nominations also lead to repeat winners.

Today, April 11th, marks the 20th anniversary of the theatrical release of writer/director Rob Zombie’s feature debut, House of 1000 Corpses. That film turned out to be the first installment in the “Firefly” franchise, as members of the homicidal Firefly family returned for two sequels: The Devil’s Rejects and 3 from Hell. To celebrate the anniversary, Entertainment Weekly caught up with Zombie for an interview about the making of House of 1000 Corpses and the struggle to get it released. As the interview nears its end, Zombie is asked if there are any plans to make a new entry in the Firefly franchise. He reveals that not only does he not intend to make another Firefly movie, but we also shouldn’t expect to see a sequel to his version of The Munsters that was released last year.

Rob Zombie’s House of 1000 Corpses celebrates its 20th anniversary this week with a brand new Blu-ray release, marking Zombie’s 20th anniversary as a filmmaker. A well-established musician by the time his debut feature was released, Zombie followed House of 1000 Corpses with films including sequels The Devil’s Rejects and 3 from Hell, remakes Halloween, Halloween II, and The Munsters, plus originals including The Lords of Salem and 31.
What’s next from Rob Zombie, you ask? Will we ever see the return of the Firefly Family in a third sequel to House of 1000 Corpses? How about a sequel to last year’s The Munsters?
Entertainment Weekly asked Zombie both of these questions in a new chat that was just published on their website this week, and he suggests neither project is in the cards.

Twenty years ago, musician-turned-filmmaker Rob Zombie combined two types of horror films that he loved — Universal monster movies and the down-and-dirty ’70s provocations of Tobe Hooper and Wes Craven — to create “House of 1000 Corpses,” a film disowned by its original studio that went on to become a cult classic. The tale of two young couples who stumble across a demented backwoods family that engages in torture, cannibalism, and satanic rituals, it’s darkly hilarious and genuinely horrifying, packed with the kind of outrageous nightmare-inducing imagery that would characterize later Zombie works like “The Devil’s Rejects,” “The Lords of Salem,” and “3 From Hell.”
For fans of the film, the jarring juxtaposition of tones is a strength, but according to Zombie, it was less a grand plan than a byproduct of his inexperience as a director. “For a lot of years I was dissatisfied with it because you go in...

This post contains major spoilers for "Succession" season 4, episode 3 aired Sunday, April 9, 2023.
On the latest episode of "Succession," misleadingly titled "Connor's Wedding," Logan Roy (Brian Cox) died, leaving the Waystar RoyCo throne vacant. While flying to Sweden to negotiate the closing of a sale with Lukas Matsson (Alexander Skarsgård), Logan took short of breath and then died of an apparent heart attack.
Logan's ill health has been a recurring subject on the show — the very first episode ended with him suffering a stroke, he came down with a Uti in season 3's "Retired Janitors of Idaho," and in the season 4 premiere, "The Munsters," he was musing on his mortality. Still, no one in the show or watching it expected him to go out like this.
After all, Logan was the center of "Succession" and Cox's sheer ferocity as an actor trumped even his always-excellent co-stars. But he didn't even get a death scene.

This article contains spoilers for "Succession."There are moments in "Succession" where Logan feels so impenetrable that the sudden reveal of his vulnerability is almost a jump-scare. The premiere of season 4 finds him at the top of his professional game, with an election and a multi-billion-dollar sale in his back pocket, and not a hint of his previous health issues in sight. This time, though, his weakness is an emotional one — his relationship with three of his four children is suffering, and they are absent for his birthday.
This episode, which kicks off the hit show's final season, mirrors the series premiere so closely that it's impossible to ignore. Both are centered around Logan's birthday, and both of them find him in a compromised position — in "Celebration," his health is called into question, while in "The Munsters," it's his family dynamic that suffers. [Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Succession Season 4, Premiere Episode, “The Munsters.”] Succession is a stage for ever-shifting family ties between the Roys, but when Season 4 begins, the bonds seem solidified as a line is drawn between Logan (Brian Cox) and his three youngest kids Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Shiv (Sarah Snook), and Roman (Kieran Culkin). But in a show filled with so many twists can we really trust that Kendall, Shiv, and Roman are going to hold it together in their fight against Logan? As teased in the premiere, Roman has the least amount of bloodlust in his venture with Kendall and Shiv — the group was preparing to launch their own start-up, The Hundred, but ditched it to acquire media conglomerate Pierce. Despite his loose-cannon behavior in the past, Roman appears to be exhibiting the kind of stability needed to accomplish tasks at hand.”I felt that way, too,” Culkin tells TV Insider of his character’s new demeanor. “...

This piece contains spoilers for the "Succession" season 4 premiere.
Sadly, "Succession" has entered its endgame. In a matter of weeks, the question posed by the title will finally be answered, all the chips will fall into place and this story will have its definitive ending. Until then, we'll be lapping up every single second of sweet "Succession" goodness that we have: the hilarity of its razor-sharp dialogue, the catharsis of the Roys rehashing familial trauma, and of course, the singular joy of watching odd couple Tom (Matthew Macfadyen) and Greg (Nicholas Braun) share the screen. Empires rise and fall, and alliances come and go, but the kinship between Tom and Greg will last forever ... probably.
For at least a little while longer, Sporus and Nero are basically attached at the hip, with Tom as the Head of Atn and Greg as his right-hand man. Because even though Tom couldn't save...
