Sex & Nudity

Violence & Gore

  • The violence more or less follows Shakespeare's own play. As a result, there are scenes of sword-fighting and murder, but none of this is particularly graphic or bloody.

Profanity

  • No real profanity, per say, but it does not follow the script of Shakespeare and some liberties and interpretations are taken when translating it from English into Russian.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Mild alcohol consumption by adults
  • It is stated (and briefly depicted) that King Claudius has drunken revels every night, which causes Denmark to be held in ill repute by foreign countries

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • This is a dark take on the play. The lighting and scenery are very grim and macabre. Nothing is overly disturbing in the actual film itself, however.
