One of the better krimi
Leofwine_draca24 June 2022
One of the better krimi films out there, even if it is based on a novel by Bryan Edgar Wallace rather than his father. It's one that held my attention throughout with the story of a string of murders taking place at a rich, horse-owning estate. There's ample humour here, titillation, a mystery mega-villain, and constant elaborate murders to save you from boredom.

Hey, gonna get you too

Warning: Spoilers
Random thoughts: Hot blondes just can't seem to resist having themselves some Hansjörg Felmy (you'll know what I mean if you've seen The Executioner of London a few films back.) Man, they're dropping like flies. I have to start paying more attention to film titles.

The nurse and the butler are the best things about this one. If they got together, they would produce perfectly normal-sized children.

What, even insurance investigators carry guns in England? I need to get out of here and move somewhere safe, like Detroit.

Okay, forget the children. What an ending though!

This was a whole lot of fun. One of the more comedic films in the series, without being a farce. A short, round, disturbingly cute 7.

This put me to sleep

Warning: Spoilers
Based on a book by Bryan Edgar Wallace, son of Edgar, this is a not very good film. It has something to do with trying to kill one horse so it won't run, killing jockeys and other nonsense. I was watching this for almost half its running time before I had any real sense of what was going on. Mostly it seemed like rich people wandering about being excited that there is at last another corpse in the castle. This has got to be the dullest of the films made from a story by either of the Wallaces. This is a time killer of the worst sort. I'd avoid it unless you're in need of sleep. Actually you'll be better off trying to find another film in the Wallace series. 3 out of 10
