The parachute sequence at the end of the movie was the first of its kind filmed in a big screen format. Photography was done in free fall by camera operator Jean-Jacques Dubourg. Interestingly enough, the opening sequence of the James Bond movie Moonraker (1979) is in many regards very similar to this scene, which is all the more worth mentioning as the De Funès / Marais Fantômas series is widely regarded as a Bond spoof.
The character of the boy, Michou is played by Olivier De Funès, who is Louis de Funès's son. This is the first time the father and the son star together.
Mylène Demongeot mentions in her memoirs that the director André Hunebelle himself, who was 68 years old, performed a stunt to prove to the members of the crew that it was not so dangerous.
