Traditional and old-style Paella Western with thrills , action , shootouts and final twist
ma-cortes18 March 2021
A passable Tortilla Western with an exciting plot following in the wake of American style more than Pasta Western . At the beginning the starring kid Bill sees how his father Jesse James is shot by Bob Ford while he was putting a painting on the wall . Once grown-up Bill James is pursued by the legend of his father Jesse James , as he goes on his way under pseudonym Bill Smith . Then he meets a friendly sheriff called Allan Davis : Adrián Hoven who helps him. As Allan advises him to ask for a job the wealthy cattle baron Dorothy : Mercedes Alonso . The latter has as underlings the sympathetic Alonso : Roberto Camardiel and the nasty foreman Bruce : Raf Baldassarre who is really working for her competitor land baron Bob : Luis Induni by robbing her horses and cattle . Along the way, Bill James befriends Alonso and both of whom take on the powerful Bob who results to be a Bill's old known person .

An acceptable Chorizo Western that packs emotion , thriller , crossfire , intrigue and a lot of familiar faces . A simple and plain plot about the classic issue of a cowboy to work at a hacienda and falls for the owner and at the same time seeking for vengeance . It has an intriguing particularity that blends the Jesse James story along with a surprising ending in which we find out the actual guilty . Stars a customary Spaghetti/Paella Western antihero : Robert Hundar , as he performed titles as "Antes llega la muerte , El Sabor de la Venganza , 4 implacables, Un hombre un colt , Dakota Joe, Ramon the Mexican , California , My name is Shangai Joe , Brandy , Man who cried for revenge" , and the classic : "Cutthroats Nine" and others directed by Joaquin Romero Marchent , in fact Robert Hundar was his fetish actor . Furthermore , there are various secondaries , regular faces of Paella or Spaghetti Western , such as : Roberto Camardiel, Luis Induni, Jose Jaspe , Raf Baldassarre , John Bartha and Fernando Sánchez Polack .

The musician Angelo Francesco Lavagnino composes his usual Western score with some enjoyable sounds , he was a prolific composer expert on Peplum and Spaghetti soundtracks . Shot on several Spanish locations as Calatayud , Zaragoza, Hoyo de Manzanares , Torrelaguna , Valdetorras del Jarama, Madrid , and Uceda , Guadalajara, Castilla La Mancha . However , the film copy is lousy and washed-out , being extremely necessary a perfect remastering . This ordinary Western is made in pre-boom Spaghetti style , though in 1964 Sergio directed For a Fistful of dollars. The motion picture was professionally directed by Antonio del Amo . He was a good professional who directed some nice films such as : El Huésped de las Tinieblas, Dia tras día and especially Sierra Maldita. Although being particularly known for his star Joselito , including films as El pequeño Ruiseñor, Saeta del Ruiseñor and El Ruiseñor de las Cumbres .
