Linda Evans was signed to play the female lead but bowed out after she was cast in The Big Valley (1965).
The soundtrack album was released on Hanna-Barbera Records, the studio's in-house label that produced pop recordings in addition to cartoon-related records. The album featured Raquel Welch's first movie song. In 1993, Welch voiced the role of "Shelly Millstone" for Hanna-Barbera in the TV movie "Hollywock-A-Bye Baby."
